My Gorgeous Nieces...

I was a little bored so I decided to take the girls into the studio tonight. I haven't taken any pics of them since Christmas.
It is so funny looking at them....they look nothing alike, (you would never know they are sisters) They act NOTHING alike either, as you can probably tell from the pictures. Ivy is more reserved, shy and I guess you could say somewhat "snooty" My sister always says that she acts just like me and should have been my daughter. Eve on the other hand is "Miss Congeniality" She is far from shy.....actually a little too friendly at times, and always has a smile on her face. 2 beautiful girls with very different personalities and I LOVE them both to pieces!!!
The one that I can't get over is the one of Ava and Ivy together. My mom and I were talking about the shot and it is crazy comparing the 2 girls. They have such different features. Ava has HUGE round eyes and Ivy's eyes are small and somewhat narrow. And the lips... Ava has a huge wide mouth with thin lips and Ivy has this little petite mouth with nice plump lips.
Now the funny thing is my sister's youngest (the little girl with brown eyes) and my youngest little guy look quite a bit a like. Man the gene pool is a strange but fascinating thing isn't it!??!?

Perfection Pure and Simple....

I can not look at these shots from a recent newborn session without thinking how pure and perfect newborns are. Each time I photograph a newborn I just stare at them and think......my gosh how amazing it is that we are blessed with perfect pure children.
Honestly I feel so honored that parents trust and choose me to photograph their precious babies. I truly love each minute of it. Even the not so glamorous ones, and believe me with an average newborn session running 3 hours there are many minutes that are not so perfect. Every time I look at the final images of a newborn session I just think boy....... I bet people don't realize how many times I got pooped or peed on and sat there with a mini heater held over the baby to get that one shot! Let me tell ya there are many of those times but it is soooo worth it, especially when I see those perfect images. But best of all is when mom sees them.....now those are the moments!

It Doesn't Get Much Better Than This!

Oh I just love this one! Those big gorgeous eyes and wide smile just melt me.
I find that the images that I love are always the up close "in your face" shots. They just really say something. It doesn't matter what session it is I always have a favorite and 99% of the time it is the extreme close up.

On A Roll Again....

I finally have all of my computer issues fixed and I'm back to shooting and editing after a couple of weeks preparing for the expo. I had a great time talking with a lot of new clients and some oldie but goodies! Hi Suzi and Koli!!!! I want to say thanks to my mom for taking the time off from work to help me out the whole weekend. I'm so lucky to have such a great mom!!
Anyways here are a few shots from a recent maternity. I can't wait to photograph baby Emma once she arrives.

As most of you know I have had computer issues for the last month. My Goodness......It Is Crazy Around Here!

From dealing with all of the computer issues that I have had to getting ready for the expo, I think I have gone a little crazy. It has been a highly stressful time for sure. But I'm getting through it :)
Yes, it is that time of year again and I will be at the West Michigan's Women's Expo again. The expo is this weekend, March 7-9 at Devos Place in Grand Rapids. Come on down and say hi, you might even see your little one featured in my display. For those of you that stop by and say hi I will include a FREE 11x14 with your next session.
